I have no idea how I am, ever.
I have two pets. They’re great. I’d rather not share pictures, or talk about them. Thanks for your understanding.
I’m also not really big on birthdays and holidays either.
Yo so Sefardí. Mi otra dingua es Espanyol. As a Sephardic Jew, I support a Free Palestine.
I’m in school and always committed to learning new skills and bases of knowledge.
My family relationships (they consistently are strained and not great, and I may not be wanting to think about it right now)
Where I am from or where I currently live (Even if we’re friendly, I probably don’t know you all that well and it may not be safe for me to share that with everyone..)
School or Work (As of right now I am on autopilot and doing the motions.)
Instead, here are better ways to engage:
- What’s on your mind right now?
- What projects have you been up to?
- Can I tell you about (something interesting or personal to you, or an experience/problem you had/are currently having)?
- What have you been writing about recently?
- What are you currently learning about?
- Would you like to cook together sometime? / Can I treat you to lunch/dinner sometime soon?
- Can I buy a bag of apple chips?
- Talk to me about a political cause or worldly atrocity you care about.
- Ask me for advice on a situation relating to accessibility, sustainability, food activism, digital media, websites, or computer science.
- Ask me for really bad sarcastic advice on anything else.
- Who is your favorite person at the moment and why?
- Where can I find your web blog for April’s Apple Chips?
- Ask about experiences supporting refugees online
- Offer a gift or cash if I have done something meaningful for you.
- Offer short or long term paid work opportunities you have or know of that I might match
- What is your perspective on _____ as a (Jew, LGBT, former homeless, disabled person, etc.)
- Ask about Jewish History or why I believe in abolishing the partnership between the USA and Israel and in a One-State Solution for Palestinian Freedom.
Bonus: Practice using gender neutral pronouns like they / them when talking to me. Don’t ask what my pronouns are. It’s a sincere question to ask and I appreciate you for doing so. But I literally channel two separate spirits, one male(Ben), one female(April), and I don’t really want to explain the nuance and context of which one you are engaging with in any given moment.. Practicing neutral pronouns is a great act of kindness for someone in your life and practice makes perfect 🙃🤎
